IPL matches postponed due to air pollution
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Three football matches in the Iran Professional League (IPL) have been postponed due to air pollution in Tehran.
Three football matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday were postponed due to heavy air pollution in the capital, but new schedule for the matches had not been announced.
Iran’s Air Pollution Committee of Tehran’s Governor’s Office announced Thursday that educational centers and governmental institutions in Tehran will be closed after the air pollution in the city reached an “unhealthy” level.
Persepolis football team was scheduled to face Gahar in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Friday and the match was called off due to the pollution.
It’s while Rah Ahan-Sepahan and Paykan-Damash matches will not be held in Tehran on Friday and Saturday respectively.
IPL leader Esteghlal will play Zob Ahan on Saturday in Isfahan.
