Persepolis U-15 finishes 2nd in Malaysian tournament
TEHRAN TIMES – BANGI, Iran’s Persepolis lost to the Slovakian national team in final match of the Under-15 Frenz International Cup and stood in second place.
The Iranian outfit lost to Slovakia 5-3 in a penalty shootout at the MBPJ Stadium in Bangi, Malaysia on Sunday.
The third place went to Frenz United Malaysia who beat Malaysia Under-15 2-0 in the third place playoff.
Slovakia walked away with a US$50,000 purse, while Persepolis returned home with US$25,000 as runner-up.
Slovakia attacker Lubomir Tupta, who netted four goals, was named Most Valuable Player, walking away with US$3,000 while Slavia Praha team was given the Fairplay Trophy.
