Esteghlal fans banned from home game for insulting ref

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Esteghlal fans have been banned from attending a home game in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) after insulting the referee during the Esteghlal and Traktorsazi match.

Esteghlal fans yelled abusive remarks to Saeid Mozaffarizadeh after the referee sent off Arash Borhani in the 40th minute for head-butting Traktorsazi player.

Esteghlal fans also insulted Traktorsazi striker Javad Kazemian on Friday.

Esteghlal fans are not allowed to attend their team’s game against Gahar in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Esteghlal players Arash Borhani has been banned for two games and Esteghlal defender Hanif Omranzadeh and Traktorsazi striker Javad Kazemian have been banned for one game each because of “confrontational and provocative behavior” during the match.
