Sepahan must beat Al-Ahli, coach says
Tehran Times – JEDDAH, Sepahan coach Zlatko Kranjcar says Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli is a well-organized team but we must beat them on Wednesday.
Last week, Sepahan suffered a 4-2 loss against Al-Ahli in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr Stadium in Group C of the AFC Champions League.
“To secure a place in the round of 16, we must beat Al-Ahli in their home. They have good players but we are ready to beat them,” Zlatko Kranjcar said in a pre-match news conference held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
“We could beat Al-Ahli in their home and will do our best to do that,” the Croat added.
Al-Ahli’s Brazilian striker Victor Simoes will be suspended for the Wednesday’s match at the King Abdulaziz Sport City in Jeddah.
Al-Garrafa of Qatar will host Al-Nasr of the United Arab Emirates in another match of the group.
Al-Ahli leads Group C with nine points, followed by Al-Garrafa with six points. Sepahan is third with three points and Al-Nasr sits bottom of the table.
