Tehran Times – LONDON, Fulham’s Iranian midfielder Ashkan Dejagah underwent an operation on his ankle Monday night.

The 27-year-old will not be playing for the Iranian national football team at least for three months.

Dejagah will miss the games against Qatar, Lebanon and South Korea in the 2014 World Cup qualifier, slated for June 4, 11,18 respectively.

In Fulham’s 3-2 victory over QPR April 1, Dejagah sustained an ankle ligament injury.

“Ashkan underwent successful surgery on his knee. He has missed the rest of English Premiere League season and Iran World Cup qualifiers,” Alireza Shahab, member of Iran’s medical staff, said.

Dejagah joined Fulham from VfL Wolsburg on a three-year deal in late August.
