Ali Parvin receives AFC Distinguished Service Award
TehranTimes – KUALA LUMPUR, Iranian football legend midfielder Ali Parvin was conferred prestigious Gold Award on Friday in recognition of his services in Asian football for 30 years.
Former Persepolis and Iran football team coach received his award from FIFA President Sepp Blatter in the ceremony.
“I am so happy because my collection has been completed with this award. I believe that this award belongs to all of Iranian people who supported me over the last 30 years,” Parvin said.
Homayoon Behzadi and Ali Jabbari of Iran, who did not attend the ceremony, were also given golds in the AFC Distinguished Service Award 2013 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday.
A total of 94 AFC Distinguished Service Awards have been bestowed in recognition of their long-serving contribution to Asian football.
Iran Professional League Organization Secretary Ali Kazemi along with 22 individuals was awarded Silver Award for 20 years service.
Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, the general secretary of Iran Football Federation, received the Bronze Award for having contributed a decade of service to the development and enhancement of the game in the continent.
