Persianfootball.com – DÜSSELDORF, Fortuna Düsseldorf is the latest club to have signalled interest in Iran’s profilic international striker Reza Ghoochannejhad.

The goalgetter is currently only the fourth striker at Belgian giants Standard Liege and is eager to complete a switch to a club where he will have more match praxis in the season ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Several Belgian and Dutch clubs have so far approached Ghoochannejhad, but the 25-year-old is yet up for grab.

According to German daily newspaper “Bild”, Fortuna Düsseldorf, who have been relegated from German Bundesliga last season, have come to the conclusion the Iranian would improve their offense and are willing to make an offer for a one-season loan deal.

Düsseldorf had a disappointing start into their Bundesliga 2 season, having collected only 4 points from three games, therefore standing in eighth position of the ranking.

Mashad-born Ghoochannejhad joined Iran’s national team last year and scored five goals in seven appearances, including three crucial goals in the final three World Cup qualifiers, helping Iran to a fourth ever World Cup finals appearance.

The leftfooter, who can play as centerforward or wingforward, so far scored 53 goals in 121 appearances on club level and although he spent much of his career in Dutch and Belgian second league, he also has first league experience with Heerenveen, Sint Truiden and Standard Liege.
