Majidi saves Esteghlal blushes [VIDEO]

Persianfootball.com – RASHT, Substitute striker Farhad Majidi was the matchwinner for Esteghlal Tehran in the Persian Gulf League’s round 5 opener on Thursday, scoring the winner after 68 minutes in the 2-1 win over Damash Gilan.

Former Austria based striker Amin Motevaselzadeh had put the hosts ahead after 16 minutes, but Siavash Akbarpour had restored parity just ten minutes later.

Esteghlal at least temporarily overtook the pole position of the table having collected 11 points so far, but Foolad Khuzestan could win back the first spot with an away win over Rah Ahan on Friday.

Persepolis, Sepahan and Tractor Sazi will also be in action the same day.
