Iran to play Gabon in friendly next month: report

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, The Iranian football team will play Gabon in a friendly match in Portugal, a report says.
Iran will face off against Gabon at its training camp in Lisbon on September 12.
According to the Iranian media, Iran will play a friendly with Sporting Lisbon as well.
Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz told FIFA on Tuesday his priority is a good preparation ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
“We have to make a worthy, creditable contribution, one that will honor and make all the supporters in Iran proud. How are we going to do that? With a wide-ranging, intensive preparation, as without that we won’t be able to compete against the big teams,” he said.
Iran qualified for the 2014 World Cup in June after beating South Korea 1-0 in Ulsan.
