Persianfootball.com – LIEGE, Iranian striker Reza Ghoochannejhad again was left out of the 18-man squad in the league, as Standard Liege’s successful run continued with a 2-0 win over Kortrijk on Sunday.

Ghoochannejhad repeatedly played in UEFA Europa League qualifiers, most recently starting in that competition midweek, but so far has played no role in the domestic league.

While Ghoochannejhad is eager to leave the club in order to get more playing time in the season ahead of the World Cup, a last minute switch on Monday, the last day of the summer transfer window, seems unlikely after Standard sport director Jean-Francois De Sart recently confirmed the club does not intend to let the goalgetter go.

De Sart told reporters Ghoochannejhad will get chances to play, especially after Standard qualified to the Europa League group stage, and that the Iranian’s situation will be newly assessed in January.

Meanwhile Sardar Azmoun stayed with the first team of Rubin Kazan after scoring his maiden goal in Europa League this week, but remained on the bench as striker Rondon scored a hattrick to give Rubin a comfortable 3-0 win in the away game versus Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast.
