Iran beats S. Korea in Asian Volleyball Championship

Tehran Times – Iran defeated South Korea to book a place in the quarterfinals of the 17th Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championships.

In the match held at the Hamdan Sports Complex on Wednesday, the reigning champion Iran beat South Korea 3-1 (25–19, 25–16, 22–25, 25–23).

“I am happy because we defeated a strong team. We played well in the first two sets. The Korean team was better in the third set.

I am not completely satisfied with the way my players played,” Julio Velasco in the post match news conference.

The 2013 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship got underway in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates from September 28 to October 6.

A total of 21 teams are divided into eight groups.
