Naft miss the chance to go top, Esteghlal edge past Saipa

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Naft missed the chance to go above Persepolis at the top of the Iranian Professional League (IPL) as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sepahan on Sunday.
Naft was leading by 2-0 thanks to goals from Hadi Aghili (own goal) and Hossein Ebrahimi. But Sepahan’s 9 men level the score in the last ten minutes. Omid Ebrahimi reduced the deficit on 80th minute and Ehsan Hajsafi made it 2-2 just before the final whistle.
The reigning champions Esteghlal edge past Saipa in Karaj. Arash Borhani scored the only goal of the match for the blues on 63th minute.
Foolad held by a 1-1 draw against Gostaresh Foolad and go top of the table with 27 points. Leandro Chavez give Foolad the lead on 60th minute but Ahmad Amirkamdar level the score for the visitors one minute later.
Elsewhere, Mes held to a 1-1 draw at home against Damash, Malavan defeated Fajr Sepasi 3-1 and Rah Ahan came from behind to beat Zob ahan 3-2.
Persepolis will face Esteghlal Khouzestan on Wednesday.
