Iran number one in Asia

Loading...Persianfootball.com – ZURICH, Iran moved up four places in the latest FIFA ranking and thereby surpassed Japan to clinch the top spot in Asia.
Iran stand in overall 45th position, three spots ahead of Japan, nine ahead of South Korea and 14 ahead of Australia.
The improvement comes after a splendid year 2013 in which in Iran lost no single competitive match, won seven out of eight matches while qualifying for both the World Cup 2014 and Asian Cup 2015 as top team of the group.
Carlos Queiroz and Team Melli will now look forward to an exciting finish of the year – the World Cup draw on December 6.
