Karim Ansarifard issues apology to Persepolis fans
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Tractor Sazi striker Karim Ansarifard has issued an apology to the Persepolis fans after scoring against his former club.
Tractor Sazi defeated Persepolis thanks to a goal from Ansarifard in Tabriz on Friday.
Ansarifard celebrated at first the scoring against his former club but lifted his arms in acknowledgement of his eighth league goal of the season. Afterward, he refused to celebrate against his former club.
“I wanted to celebrate my goal but I understood I scored on my former club,” Ansarifard was quoted by the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) as saying.
“I respect the fans, coach, players and the whole club so that is why I didn’t celebrate. I apologize to everyone if I made him unhappy,” he added.
“I am doing my best in Tractor since I am committed to the club. I think we can win the Iran league title,” Ansarifard stated.
Tractor Sazi moved to the top of the table, followed by Naft and Esteghlal.
