Statement in regards to Facebook reaction after the World Cup draw

Persianfootball.com – LOS ANGELES, The Persianfootball.com staff, community and Iranian football fans condemn any insults towards football players from any corner of the world which goes against the spirit of this great sport.

We are very disappointed at the very few, whose voice at times surpasses that of the majority, as our readers are aware this happens all the times whether in Iran, Europe or other countries. However, it is the duty of the majority to stand up and not let the handful of people try to destroy the spirit and joy of football.

As active football players, coaches, parents and fans with many of us being involved with this great game for more than 30 years, we are especially disappointed for seeing such insults being directed towards one of the greatest players of our time, the legendary Lionel Messi, whose style and games inspires thousands of Iranian youths and players.

Wholeheartedly, we wish the Argentinian team and all their players to have a wonderful experience in the upcoming world. We look forward to meet and greet Argentinian football fans in Brazil and to an entertaining game between the two teams.
