AFC President pays tributes to Iranian legend Jeddikar

AFC – KUALA LUMPUR, AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa paid tributes to Iranian legend Büyük Jeddikar saying he was the face of Asian football at the world stage.

Jeddikar, who was the first Iranian footballer to be transferred from an Iranian club to a foreign club, passed away recently at the age of 84.

The AFC President said he was saddened with the news of his demise adding that Jeddikar will be remembered as one of the top strikers Iran has produced.

His short stint in Europe showed that Asia has talent and it has grown ever since, Shaikh Salman added.

On behalf of the Asian football family, the AFC President has offered his sincere condolences to the stakeholders of Iranian football, family and friends of this legendary footballer.

Jeddikar also played for the Iran national side for 15 years from 1950 to 1965.
