Persepolis held by Naft

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran Professional Leader (IPL) Persepolis was held to a goalless draw against Naft football team in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Persepolis failed to avenge Naft for the late 1-0 defeat at the first of the season.

“Naft deserved to score at least one goal. We created so many chances in front of Persepolis goal. I am satisfied with the way my players played,” Yahya Golmohammadi said in the post match news conference.

Elsewhere, Foolad defeated Esteghlal Sanati in Ahvaz derby thanks to a brace from Esmaeil Sharifat.

Zob Ahan drew Malavan 1-1 in Isfahan’s Foolad Shahr Stadium. Mohsen Bayatinia gave Zob Ahan a lead just six minutes into the match and Jalal Rafkhaei equalized the match in the 57th minute.
