Iran Football Federation offers condolences over death of Eusebio

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran Football Federation (IFF) sent condolences Sunday over the death of Portuguese football legend Eusebio.

IFF sent its condolences to his family, friends, Benfica and Portuguese football in general.

Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz and his assistant Antonio Simoes also expressed their heartfelt sympathy to Eusebio’s family.

The Mozambique-born player known as the “Black Panther”, died at the age of 71 after suffering cardio-pulmonary arrest early on Sunday morning.

Eusebio won 11 league titles and five Portuguese cups in his 15 years at Benfica and was Portugal’s top league scorer between 1964 and 1973.

He scored 733 times in 745 professional matches. Eusebio also scored 41 goals in 64 games for Portugal.
