Under 19s crush Slovenia to play for fifth place

Persianfootball.com – SAINT PETERSBURG, Iranian youngsters crushed Slovenia 3-0 today on January 10, 2014. This match was their second last at their fourth appearance at Valentin Granatkin Memorial Tournament where they will play Greece on Sunday in the playoff for the 5th place.

Previously Iran had participated in the tournament in 2001, 2005 and 2013. The Under 19s’ highest rank was in the 2001 edition when they got 3rd place. In 2005 finished in 4th place, whilst last year Iran had lost to Slovenia 3-1 in the 7th-8th place match.
