Persianfootball.com – KUCHING, Alireza Abbasfard assisted and scored a goal playing in a pre-season friendly match for his new club Sarawak FA.

Sarawak FA, known as “the crocs” by their fans, is coached by Dutchman Robert Alberts. Alireza Abbasfard signed-up with the crocs in December 2013.

Last Saturday, Sarawak FA hammered KL SPA 5-0 in front of 15000 spectators. Alireza Abbasfard who came on as a substitute for former Sepahan and Shahrdari Tabriz player, Milorad Janjuš, just after the 55th minute into the game, had made a great impact in the crocs victory, as he assisted a goal and scored one himself.

According to Crocs official website, barely five minutes on, Abbasfard was fouled in the penalty box and Muamer Salibasic took the spot kick and successfully converted it. Then in the 67th minute, he calmly tapped in Lot Hassan’s blocked shot on goal.

The 32 years old striker is the first Iranian to be playing in the Malaysia Super League. The crocs will take on Armed Forces at the Selayang Stadium on January 18 for their first game of the 2014 season.
