Frenz International Cup: Iran defeats Frenz United

Loading...Tehran Times – BANTUL, Iran earned its second victory at the 2014 Frenz International Cup U-16 by beating Indonesian Frenz United on Wednesday.
The Iranian team beat Frenz 3-0 in the match held at the Sultan Agung Stadium in Bantul, Indonesia.
Mohammad Shamsi opened the scoring in the 14th minute and Reza Shekari extended Iran’s lead in the 53rd minute. Ali Akbarahmadi scored Iran’s third goal in the injury time.
Iran will face Sportin Lisbon in Group B on Thursday. The Persians had defeated Chonburi FC of Thailand 4-0 in their opening match.
The 2014 Frenz International Cup U-16 tournament which offers USD100,000 as prize money is co-hosted by Indonesia and Malaysia from January 11 to 26.
The tournament features 12 teams from Asia, Europe and South America playing in two groups.
