Iran in high spirits to host 2019 Asian Cup
Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, Iran’s hope of hosting the 2019 Asia Cup remains high as Saudi Arabia are no longer the favourite to host the precious continental event.
As reported by STC Sports, Saudi Arabia whose ministries of commerce and finance failed to deliver the mandatory assurances to the AFC, are no longer favorites to host the event. This would leave Persian Gulf’s largest nation Iran to compete with remaining contenders for hosting rights UAE, Kuwait and Thailand.
It must be noted that previously, other bidders had pulled out. The cancelled bids were Bahrain, Lebanon and Oman from the west, and from the east were China, Malaysia and Myanmar.
