New coach focused on survival of Zob Ahan
Tehran Times – ESFAHAN, With just three weeks left, Zob Ahan appointed Firooz Karimi as the new head coach of the Isfahan based team.
Zob Ahan is only four points above the Iran Professional League relegation zone, having won only four of its 27 matches in the current season.
“Zob Ahan has 45-year history and we have to save the team from relegation. We need to keep trying to do that,” newly-appointed Karimi said.
Karimi becomes Zob Ahan’s third coach in the current season of the Iran Professional League (IPL).
The former Esteghlal and Paykan coach replaced Mojtaba Taghavi, who was appointed Zob Ahan coach in December.
Zob Ahan started the competitions with Luka Bonacic but two parties parted company by mutual agreement. He was forced to return to Croatia for the treatment of his kidney disease.
