Iran, Mozambique friendly match called off
Tehran Times – JOHANNESBURG, Iran, Mozambique friendly has been cancelled after the Iranian officials rescheduled the match to May 2.
Iran and Mozambique friendly was originally scheduled for May 7 but the Iranian officials announced the match will be held five days earlier.
Mozambique football officials cancelled the match saying they are not ready for the friendly on May 2.
Iran has played two friendly matches with Moroka Swallow and Orlando Pirates and will play two more friendlies with the South African clubs on Saturday and Tuesday.
Iran has been drawn in Group F of the 2014 World Cup along with Argentina, Nigeria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Asian heavyweight will hold a training camp in Austria from May 12.
Iran will play Belarus and Montenegro in the camp.
The team will face Trinidad and Tobago in its final preparation for the 2014 World Cup. The match will be held in Sao Paolo, Brazil on June 8.
The World Cup will begin in Sao Paulo on June 12 and will end in Rio’s famous Maracana stadium on July 13.
Iran will play Nigeria in Curitiba on June 16 in its first group match.
