AFC inspectors due in Iran on Sunday
Tasnim – TEHRAN, AFC inspectors will come to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Sunday to start visiting the stadiums in Iran.
Iran has submitted its bid to host the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
The country has previously hosted the editions in 1968 and 1976.
Iran, the UAE, Thailand and Kuwait have expressed their interests in hosting the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
An eight-member delegation from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will come to Tehran on Sunday morning to visit the candidate stadiums.
At 15:00pm on Sunday, the delegation will go to the Football Academy in Tehran to inspect the country’s conditions, possibilities and programme in the presence of the Iranian football officials.
On Sunday, they will also visit Azadi Stadium and inspect the arena’s facilities for one hour.
From Monday, the delegation will be divided in two groups to inspect the candidate cities Isfahan, Mashhad, Tabriz, Shiraz and Kerman simultaneously.
The inspection team will take into consideration several factors other than stadium facilities, including training sites, security facilities and transportation infrastructures.
