Italian Genoa Sports Club Keen to Expand Cooperation with Iran
Fars News – TEHRAN, Genoa Club’s investment representative Julio Mongardi underlined Iran’s good sports infrastructures and talented youth, and expressed readiness for lunching all-out cooperation with the country, particularly Iran’s Football Premier League Association.
Speaking at a meeting with senior Advisor to Iran’s Football Premier League Association Mohammad Reza Saket in Tehran on Tuesday, Mongardi said that they found Iran different from what had been presented to them.
Mongardi noted that he was impressed with Iran beauty, rich culture and developed infrastructures.
‘Hereafter, we will serve as an envoy to launch positive publicity about Iran in Europe,” he said.
Mongardi said that they are involved in setting up football schools across the world, voicing readiness to do the same in Iran.
Genoa Cricket and Football Club, commonly referred to simply as Genoa, is a professional Italian football and cricket club based in the city of Genoa, Liguria.
During their long history, Genoa have won the Serie A nine times. Genoa’s first title came at the inaugural championship in 1898 and their last was in 1923–24. They also won the Coppa Italia once. Historically, Genoa is the fourth most successful Italian club in terms of championships won.
