Iran held by Angola in friendly
Tehran Times – HARTBERG, Iran football team was held to a 1-1 draw against Angola in a friendly match on Friday in Hartberg, Austria.
In the 42nd minute, Angola defender Silva opened Iran’s goal with a header, Karim Ansarifard scored for Iran in the 57th minute.
Iran captain Javad Nekounam and Sardar Azmoun were forced to leave the match in the first half due to injuries.
Iran, which is preparing itself for the 2014 World Cup, will play Trinidad and Tobago on June 8 in its pre-World Cup warm weather training camp in Brazil.
Iran has been pitted against Nigeria, Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Group F.
Iran will play Nigeria on June 16 in Curitiba in its opening match.
Carlos Queiroz’s men will play Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 21 and June 25, respectively.
