Carlos Queiroz in talks over Iran contract extension
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Head of the Iran Football Federation Ali Kafashian met Carlos Queiroz on Sunday over his contract extension as head coach of Iran.
“If they want me to continue as Iran coach they have to make written request.” Queiroz told reporters after his meeting with Kafashian.
Queiroz guided Iran to World Cup finals in Brazil eleven month ago. His men had good performance against Nigeria and fantastic show against Argentina but a 3-1 defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina ended Iran’s hopes of advancing to the knockout stages.
“I have to thank all people who helped me in my job.” the Portuguese said.
“I don’t want to talk about financial conditions of my contract extension. During the last eleven month I always expressed my availability and my conditions to renew the contract and I don’t want to repeat these things,” Queiroz added.
Iran will have to prepare itself for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in Australia from January 9 to 31, 2015.
