Tasnim – TEHRAN, Head of Iran Football Federation (IFF) Ali Kaffashian said that Carlos Queiroz will pen a contract extension with Team Melli on August 20.

Queiroz has already reached an agreement with the Iranian federation but has not extended his contract so far.

The Portuguese was also a candidate to be appointed as South Africa but the South Africa Football Association (SAFA) opted Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba as the new head coach of the team on Saturday.

“As I already said, Queiroz reached agreement with us, regardless of South Africa’s interest. He will send us our agreement on August 1 via email and will travel to Iran on August 20 to extend the contract,” Kaffashian said.

Queiroz is set to continue coaching Iran until the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he added.
