Nekounam inks two-year-deal with Osasuna

Persianfootball.com – PAMPLONA, An obviously happy Javad Nekounam was presented as Osasuna player in Pamplona on Monday.

More than 500 fans came to see the return of Iran’s national team captain to the club he had already played for from 2006 to 2012.

Nekounam, who reportedly signed until summer 2016, even accepted cuts in salary in comparison to his previous clubs, manager Javier Zabaleta confirmed.

The 33-year-old’s target is the return to Primera division.

“We want to be promoted for next season”, Nekounam is quoted on the club’s official homepage. “We know it will be difficult and that we have a long road ahead of us, but we are ambitous and motivated.”
