Tehran’s Reds sign Michael Umana

Loading...Tasnim – TEHRAN, Persepolis football club announced the signing of Costa Rican defender Michael Umana on Sunday.
Umana has joined Persepolis on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
He will wear the No 4 shirt at Persepolis.
“I am happy to join Persepolis and I am happy too to wear No 4 shirt since this is my favorite number,” Umana said.
The 32-year-old player was part of Costa Rica football team in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where they defeated Uruguay 3–1 and Italy 1–0 to qualify for the knockout stage.
Umana converted Costa Rica’s decisive fifth kick in a 5–3 penalty shootout against Greece in round of 16.
Umana started his career in Carmelita and has also played at Los Angeles Galaxy, Chivas USA, Costa Rican clubs Brujas and Saprissa and Guatemalan club Comunicaciones.
