Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, Nelo Vingada has named his 20-men Team Omid squad for the upcoming 2014 Asian Games which will be held in Incheon, South Korea from 19 September to 4 October.

The players are all from Iran’s domestic league and include 3 Goalkeepers, 5 Defenders, 9 Midfielders and 3 Strikers. An additional three players can be added to the squad to bring the total to 23, however until now it is not certain as to whether the additional players will be over-age players or under-23 or a combination of the two, as no candidates have been named.

Notable absentees are European-based players such as Sardar Azmoun (Rubin Kazan, Russia), Alireza Jahanbakhsh (NEC, Netherlands), Mahan Baghdadi (Vasalunds IF, Sweden), Navid Nasseri (Birmingham, England) perhaps due to club commitments, as well as Payam Sadeghian (Persepolis) due to suspension.
