Carlos Queiroz to become more involved in Team Melli youth squads
Ojogo – TEHRAN, The president of the Iranian Football Federation has declared that Team Melli head coach, Carlos Queiroz, will be more involved with the national teams at youth levels. He will work alongside Nelo Vingada in order to better prepare the team and secure qualification for the Olympic Games which will be held in Rio De Janeiro in 2016.
The Iranian Federation gave the Portuguese coach – The current national team head coach – the task of drawing up a plan to ensure qualification for the Olympic Games being held in Rio de Janeiro.
The President of the Football Federation of Iran, Ali Kaffashian, announced this Monday that Carlos Queiroz will work alongside Nelo Vingada and will take a more active role in the training of Iranian football selections.
This decision came forward after the elimination of Iran in Asian Cup Under-19.
“I was shocked by what happened. Upon the defeat with Yemen could barely sleep,” he explained, after the result that eliminated the Iranian youth.
“We will outline a progressive plan for all levels, especially for the U-23 squad. We have got to qualify for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. Queiroz and avenged will have to work on a plan that will allow us to qualify,” he added.
