Esteghlal beats Parseh in Iran’s Hazfi Cup

Loading...TehranTimes, TEHRAN– Esteghlal football team advanced to the quarter-final of the Iran’s Hazfi Cup with a 4-2 win over first division Parseh on Monday.
In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Milad Poursafshekan opened the scoring in the 9th minute but Karrar Jassim equalized the match just one minute into the second half.
Five minutes later Sajjad Shahbazzadeh gave Esteghlal the lead but was sent off in the 70th minute after receiving his second yellow card.
Mohammad Ghazi made it 3-1 in the 90th minute.
Sajjad Ashouri pulled a goal back one minute later but Jassim scored Esteghlal’s fourth goal in the dying moments of the match.
Esteghlal will play Zob Ahan in the quarter-final.
Elsewhere, Naft Tehran edged Shahrdari Ardebil 1-0.
Ali Ghorbani scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute.
