AFC Asian Cup More Difficult than World Cup, Queiroz Says
Tasnim, TEHRAN – Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz said that the 2015 AFC Asian Cup is more difficult than the 2014 World Cup.
Iran has been scheduled to face South Korea in a friendly on November 18 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Team Melli is preparing for the AFC Asian Cup which will be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.
Iran has been pitted against the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain in Group C of the tournament.
“We are going to participate in the Asian Cup with the slogan: ’One Dream, One Nation’. Now, our priority is preparing for the Asian Cup,” Queiroz said.
“We have a difficult task in the Asian Cup. Iran had a difficult task in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but I believe that Team Melli has a more difficult job in Australia,” former Real Madrid coach stated.
“The Asian teams have analyzed our team and we have to be full-prepared for the competition. Of course we are happy to take part in the event,” the Portuguese added.
