Iran favorite to win Asian Cup, Jahanbakhsh predicts

Loading...Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iranian international winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh said that Team Melli could win the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
The Asian Cup will be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.
Team Melli has been pitted against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain in Group C of the tournament.
Iran has been also scheduled to face South Korea in a friendly on November 18 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
“Match against South Korea is a good test for us since they are one of the favorites to win the Asian Cup,” Jahanbakhsh said.
“We need more warm-up matches to get ready for the Asian Cup. Our rivals have played so many friendlies so far. Of course, we are concentrating on ourselves and want to participate in the tournament with a good preparation,” NEC winger added.
“After a good performance in the 2014 World Cup, I think we have a chance to win the AFC Asian Cup. Iran is a favorite to win the tournament. We are ready to make our people happy,” he stated.
