Iran football team to hold camp in South Africa
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran football team will hold a training camp in South Africa ahead of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
Team Melli is preparing itself for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.
“The provisional list will be announced on December 12. We will hold a training camp in South Africa to get used to the weather conditions in Australia,” Carlos Queiroz said in a news conference on Sunday.
“Iran will play friendly against Palestine on December 28 in Tehran. Team Melli will also play Iraq in a friendly in Australia six days before its opening match against Bahrain,” the Portuguese coach added.
“We are going to advance to the final match. Of course, all teams want to defeat Iran in the AFC Asian Cup and it makes life difficult for us,” Queiroz said.
Iran has been pitted against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain in Group C of the tournament.
