Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran Football Federation (IFF) has chosen the two final candidates for Olympic team.

Mansour Ebrahimzadeh and Mohammad Khakpour are the main candidates to coach Iran U-23 football team after Mehdi Tartar and Mohammad Mayelikohan were omitted from the list.

Last week, former Sepahan and Persepolis coach, Zlatko Kranjcar has came very close to Iran Olympic job but Iranian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports disagreed with IFF decision.

The Iranian Football Federation (IFF) parted company with Nelo Vingada as Iran Olympic head coach in early September.

The Portuguese coach was sacked from his post following the poor results in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.

Iran football team has not participated in the Olympics since 1976 Montreal.
