Montazeri doubtful for Asian Cup

Loading...Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, Iran international defender Pejman Montazeri might miss the Asian Cup in Australia next month due to injury.
The 31-year-old sustained the injury at his club Umm Salal in Qatar this last week, with the club immediately announcing the former Esteghlal Tehran defensive allrounder would miss the continental showpiece.
However, Montazeri has meanwhile travelled to Tehran where he went medical examination and is awaiting test results which will disclose if he will recover timely.
Montazeri, who can play as center- or right-back, is a key player in Carlos Queiroz’s squad, having played the full 90 minutes in Iran’s three World Cup matches in summer.
