Loading...Tasnim – SYDNEY, After Team Melli’s strong start against Bahrain at the Asian Cup, Reza Ghoochannejhad expressed his satisfaction in the team’s performance, and has maintained a positive outlook in predicting Iran could even win the tournament.
Iranian national football team international striker Reza Ghoochannejhad said that Team Melli has the capability to win the 2015 AFC Asian Cup title.
Ehsan Hajsafi struck with a sumptuous volley in first-half stoppage time. Masoud Shojaei added a second in the 71st minute to end Bahrain’s brave resistance in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup Group C.
“Iran is able to win the title. We showed a good performance against Bahrain,” Ghoochannejhad told reporters after the match.
“I would also like to extend my gratitude to the fans, who supported us during the match.”
“I think we have to be satisfied with our win. I did my best in the match and I hope that help the team in the upcoming matches. In my opinion, Iran can win the title,” he added.
Iran will play Qatar on Thursday at Australia Stadium.
