AFC inspectors to visit Iran stadiums

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Two AFC inspectors will be sent to Iran on February 2, to visit Tehran’s Azadi and Takhti stadiums as a final check to announce 2019 Asian Cup host, secretary general of Iran Football Federation Mohammad Mehdi Nabi stated.
Iran is among the final four countries which have expressed its interest in hosting the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
“This final visit is very important for us as AFC will announce the host nation for the 2019 Asian Cup in the near future. The AFC inspectors will make the final reports of Azadi and Takhti stadiums a day after their visit,” Nabi said.
After its unsuccessful bid to host the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, Iranian Football Federation renewed intentions to host the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Iran, who has previously hosted 1968 and 1976 Asian Cups, will compete against UAE, Thailand and Saudi Arabia to win the bid to host the 2019 edition of the tournament.
