IPL leader Naft held by Paykan

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran Professional League (IPL) leader Naft was held to a 1-1 draw by Paykan football team on Thursday.

Amin Hajmohammadi gave Naft the lead just seconds before the halftime but Mostafa Shojaei equalized the match eight minutes later.

Naft defender Morteza Pouraliganji was sent off in the 88th minute after receiving a straight red card.

Elsewhere, rock-bottom Malavan beat relegation-threatened Rah Ahan 3-0 in Bandar Anzali and moved up three places in the table. The defeat sent Rah Ahan to the bottom of the IPL table.

Gostaresh Foolad and Naft Masjed Soleyman match was postponed because of weather conditions.

Naft remains top of the table with 39 points two points clear of Foolad who has two games in hands.
