Sardar Azmoun is a versatile player, says Rostov coach
Tehran Times – ROSTOV, Rostov head coach Kurban Berdyev, who convinced Sardar Azmoun to join struggling Rostov, believes the striker is a versatile player and can help them avoid relegation.
“I’m happy that Azmoun has joined us. We had some goal scoring problems in the first half of the season and now with Azmoun we can solve our problem and hopefully avoid relegation.
“He is a versatile player capable of playing under pressure and is able to score vital goals,” the former Rubin Kazan coach said.
“We also have Aleksandr Bukharov who I’ve worked with at Rubin Kazan. He has returned from injury and can help us in the rest of the season. We have scored just 15 goals in 17 matches so far, but we can improve this record with four in-form strikers like Azmoun, Yoo Byung-Soo and Artyom Dzyuba,” Berdyev added.
Rostov, which is currently at the bottom of the Russian Premier League and facing relegation, has won the Russian Cup last season.
