Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Rostov striker Sardar Azmoun has been voted Iran’s Young Player of the Year in a poll taken by the popular TV program “90” Monday night.

Azmoun won 49 percents of votes in the five-candidate race.

“Thank you everyone who voted for me. It’s a huge motivation for me and gives me even more determination for the future,” Azmoun wrote on his Instagram.

Azmoun joined FC Rostov from Robin Kazan for the rest of the Russian premier league on February 25.

He scored two goals against Qatar and Iraq in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Persepolis striker Mehdi Taromi finished in second place in the poll with 24 percent.

Tianjin Teda defender Morteza Pouraliganji became third with 13 percent of total votes.

NEC Nijmegen winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh came fourth with 10 percent and Sepahan striker Mehdi Sharifi came fifth, earning 4 percent.
