Queiroz soon after announced his retirement due to interference.

However former Real Madrid coach will sit on Iran football bench in two friendly matches against Chile and Sweden on 26th and 31 March respectively.

He took charge of Team Melli on 4 April 2011 and guided the team to the 2014 World Cup, where the Iranian football team lost to Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina and drew with Nigeria.

Iran also lost to Iraqi outfit 8-7 on the penalty shootout in the quarter-final of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in January.
