Tasnim – TABRIZ, Iran’s Tractor Sazi coach Toni Oliveira said they could have defeated Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia in Group D of the AFC Champions League.

On Tuesday, Iran’s Tractor Sazi was held to a 2-2 draw by the Saudi Arabian football team in Tabriz’s Yadegar-e-Emam Stadium.

“We could have lost against Al Ahli because they hit the bar in the second half. On the other hand, we could be the winner,” Oliveira told the reporters in the post-match news conference.

“Both teams had good chances but Al Ahli took advantage of its chances. Also, I have to thank my players because they played well and fought well as well,” the Portuguese coach added.

Al Ahl stays at the top of the group with eight points and almost advanced to the next stage.
Tractor Sazi is third, four points behind the leader.
