IPL Round-Up: Sepahan Defeats Traktor Sazi, Esteghlal Khuzestan Draws Persepolis

Tasnim – ISFAHAN, Sepahan of Isfahan came from behind to beat Tractor Sazi 2-1 in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.

Tractor Sazi Brazilian striker Edinho put the visiting team in a lead in the 45th minute and Luciano Pereira equalized the match in 76th minute from the penalty spot.

Rasoul Navidkia scored the winner for Sepahan in the 90th minute. Sepahan can fight its way back into IPL title race.

In Tehran, Naft suffered a home defeat to Foolad.

Aloys Nong scored the only goal of the match in the 67th minute.

Gostaresh Foolad also defeated relegation-threatened Malavan 3-2 in Tabriz.

Naft maintained its place at the top of the table with 48 points one point clear of Tractor Sazi.

Sepahan and Foolad are third and fourth with 44 points.

The final game of the round saw Esteghlal Khuzestan draw with Tehran giants Persepolis 1-1 in Ahvaz.

Esteghlal Khuzestan remains one place above the relegation zone at 13th with Persepolis in the 9th place spot.
