“I miss the Tehran derby” – Eamon Zayed
Tehran Times – SABAH, Former Persepolis striker Eamon Zayed said that he misses playing in Tehran derby between Persepolis and Esteghlal.
Eamon Zayed was given the “Mr.hattrick” nickname when he scored three goals against Persepolis arch-rival Esteghlal in February 2012.
“I miss all Persepolis fans and I wish to see them again soon. This Friday is the biggest derby match in Asia,” Zayed told the Tehran Times correspondent in an exclusive interview.
“The league (Iran Professional League) season is coming to an end and both Esteghlal and Persepolis have failed to match their big expectations at the beginning of the season,” the 31-year-old added.
“Esteghlal remains in 6th place and Persepolis in 9th place! BUT this derby match is a big chance for the players of Persepolis to show their passion. Persepolis players can finally make their fans happy this season,” Zayed said.
“I wish more than anything I could have had the chance to play in this game scheduled for Friday. I hope Persepolis can win this match and make their fans happy. Dosat Doram (I love you) Persepolis and I hope to see you again soon,” the Irish-Libyan forward concluded.
