Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iranian international player Alireza Jahanbakhsh has revealed that he had rejected Persepolis lucrative offer to join NEC Nijmegen.

“I was just 19-year-old when Persepolis general manager at that time Mr. Rouyanian called me to convince me but I had a bigger dream. I wanted to move to Europe and now I’m completely happy with my decision,” said Jahanbakhsh in an interview with 90 TV show.

Jahanbakhsh, who voted the best player of the 2014-15 Jupiler League earlier this month, has been linked to several clubs after he stated that he is going to leave NEC Nijmegen this summer.

“I have a couple of offers from England, Belgium and the Netherlands. NEC has received two official offers, one from a Championship side in England and the other from Belgian side Anderlecht but I prefer to remain in Netherlands because I’ve just become familiar with the atmosphere and the country’s culture,” Jahanbakhsh added.

The 21-year old winger helped his team to promote back to the Eredivisie, providing 18 assists and scoring 12 goals.
