Tehran Times – DUSHANBE, Team Iran won the title of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-14 football festival for Central and South Asian region on Tuesday.

The Iranian team defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the final match and finished in first place.

Iran beat host Tajikistan 3-2 in its opening match and then defeated Sri Lanka 4-0.

Ali Tahmasbizadeh’s boys also drew 2-2 with India in the tournament which took place at the Stiqlol Academy in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

A total of seven teams, namely Tajikistan, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan participated in the festival.

The festival is focusing on development rather than winning.
